Athirappilly Tribal Valley Project (ATVP) by Rebuild Kerala Initiative Gains Global Reach

Under the Rebuild Kerala Initiative (RKI), the project “Enhancement of the Livelihood Security of Tribal Minority Groups at Athirappilly through Sustainable Farming, Value addition and Market linkage” is empowering the ST population to achieve self-reliance in farming and secure better prices for their produce. As part of this effort, a Farmer Producer Company (FPC) “Athirappilly Tribal Valley FPC LTD.” has been established with the tribal farmers as the shareholders, to enhance their income and livelihoods. Marking a significant milestone, the government have entered an MoU to export 2 tonnes of pepper annually to Sweden for the next 3 years and 20 tonnes of coffee annually to Europe for the next 5 years. The MoU, signed by the Hon’ble Agriculture Minister, opens new international markets for tribal farmers, ensuring sustainable growth and economic upliftment.
